Basseterre, St. Kitts, 6 February, 2018 – His Excellency Mr Josep Maria Bosch Bessa, Ambassador of Spain to St. Kitts and Nevis made his inaugural visit to the Federation from 5 – 8 February, 2018 to present his credentials to the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis.
His Excellency Bosch Bessa first met with the Governor General, His Excellency Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton, G.C.M.G, C.V.O, Q.C, J.P to whom he presented his Letters of Credence from the Government of Spain. The Ambassador renewed Spain’s commitment to St. Kitts and Nevis and further pledged to improve our bilateral relations. The Governor General warmly welcomed the Ambassador to the shores of St. Kitts and Nevis and expressed his deep appreciation to the Government of Spain for its continued support of the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis.
The Ambassador subsequently met with Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Aviation, Ms. Kaye Bass where he spoke of the long standing diplomatic relations Spain has enjoyed with St. Kitts and Nevis and pledged his commitment to further strengthen cooperation between Spain and St. Kitts and Nevis especially in areas of renewal energy and climate change.
Ambassador Bosch Bessa paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Premier of Nevis and , Hon. Mark Brantley at his office in Nevis. In welcoming His Excellency to the sister island, the Premier echoed his appreciation for the productive relationship that St. Kitts and Nevis has enjoyed with Spain and his gratitude for the opportunity to exchange ideas with the Ambassador.
His Excellency Mr Josep Maria Bosch Bessa is a graduate of Law and International Studies, and has served his country’s international endeavors as a career diplomat for over 3 decades.
